Daily wound care. A C-Section. Extreme impetigo. A one-minute delivery.

It’s hard to write an appropriate introduction over the loud mosaic of memories from our two medical service trips to Haiti this summer. How can we summarize 28 days of medical work, cultural immersion, and community service into one concise introductory post? Where do we even start?

Because this time, it didn’t start during our first trip in June, or even in the few months leading up to it. It started over a year ago, when I was sitting on a Main library table, telling my best friend, “Dude, I think I want to start a new organization so we can do more Haiti stuff.”

So let me keep this introduction brief but hopefully promising enough that you will read what we have to share with you from our one month of medical service in Jacmel, Haiti.

Exactly one year ago, I was in a cafe, working furiously to start a new student organization at Northwestern, and plan upcoming Haiti trips. And now, I find myself in the same position; except this time I have 15 more minds, hearts, and arms alongside me.

I am so excited for you to hear our stories. And I hope you are, too.
